Why the change? We noticed that our former ticketing site on Ticket Tailor was simply getting too expensive for our guests. Ticket Tailor charges a small cut of each individual sale, as well as Stripe which was our credit card processor. These two together is where the 10% Transaction fee came from. Depending on the order, that could cost our guests between $1 extra to $20 extra. We decided to change to Shopify where we can expect a singular monthly charge to us, and their in-house credit card processor takes a smaller portion than Stripe does. You can spend those extra dollars on something better than a huge transaction fee. :)
To better adjust this change, as well as some other suggestions, we are switching to another format for ticketing as well. We would like to be able to provide an improved menu, which will be a little more pricey to accomplish. So, we will be charging $5 entry tickets that cover entertainment and complimentary tea service - and then offering our improved menu as add-ons to your ticket for a customized experience. Not sure if you want that new sparkly drink or yummy treat? You can also purchase them in-person. However, pre-purchasing ensures you get the menu item you want while our stock is very limited - and pre-sales help us order enough stock to serve everyone.
